...I'm really worried about Flynn...

I haven't seen him in days, I haven't heard from him in days...I went by his room to see if he was there...and I knocked on his door, he didn't answer, so I went on in, and it looked like nobody'd been living there in ages...

I don't know where he is, or what could have happened to him! I...does anybody have any idea where he could've gone? I've started looking, but I don't know all the places to check...


Oh, I hope he hasn't left...he promised he wouldn't...

No it's not! They don't have any right to do what they do!

I liked this place at first, but now I know it's just a bigger version of the tower! It traps people and won't let them leave! Only here it's worse, because they make it seem like everything's alright, with other people and places to go...but it's not!

Yeah. It's like a really big prison. I have more freedom than at my parents' house, but it's all the same in the end. I can't go where I want.

Not in a tower. I could walk around the grounds as long as I had a guard with me. [ The emphasis on the word 'guard' rather suggested their uselessness. ] But I couldn't ever leave. I had to run away.

.....Wait a second, your parents locked you in a tower? Did you do something?

That doesn't sound fun at all...

Well, no. Mother said the tower was to protect me, but ever since I left...I can't help but wonder what she was trying to protect me from. The world isn't nearly as scary as she made it out to be.

It was really boring. I ran away a lot.

Some parts of the world are bad and they hurt, but I think it's worth it being out here. You get to be who you are and not who someone else wants you to be.

That's what I've been learning. I like it out here...I don't really want to go back to the tower, even if Mother wants me to.

I did tell her! She said no...and so I sort of snuck out. I'm going to go back, maybe! I just wanted to go out for once in my life. I'm not alone, either, and I want to prove to her that I can take care of myself...

The world isn't as scary and awful as she made it sound, either. Sneaking out to see the floating lanterns was the best thing I ever did...and Flynn was my guide...and my first human friend...

My friends all used to be here with me too, but they've almost all left.

Same. As much as she doesn't make sense sometimes, she's my mother...she loves me, and even if she's a bit paranoid, she just doesn't want me getting hurt.

It's just me and Pascal now, and he came with me, so...I guess he counts?

Maybe you can convince her that you're okay outside, since you haven't managed to die yet or anything.
