[Rapunzel has set up everything for her big first ever birthday party in Xanadu. There's lots of food, lots of desserts, and little gift bags everywhere. There's games, and music, and all those other things you need for a good party.

She's clearly excited about all of this, as a few people have already arrived, and she's chatting with them, excited and eager, if a bit tired. She did set all of this up herself, not to mention all of the food and goody bags and everything...it has to be a perfect first ever birthday party.

So! Come on in and have fun, because that's all that Rapunzel wants.]

...OH! You mean presents! I don't know, I haven't opened anything yet...I told people they didn't have to bring anything...

Well of course they have to bring something! You're the birthday girl. That's what birthdays are for. Cakes and presents and anything you want.

[Not that he knows that from experience; birthdays weren't a big thing in his orphanage. But that's how it was in all the books he read.]

I'm not used to getting so many gifts. Every year, Mother gives me one gift, then she makes me my favorite dinner, and I don't have to do chores that day either. Well, I guess that's more like 3 gifts.

It's going to be weird, not seeing them today.
